For children medication should be given strictly with a doctor’s prescription. Acid reflux in most cases does not require medication. A modification of ones lifestyle in most cases stops the symptoms. In chronic cases which are rare, medication does not help. In these cases one may need surgery. One should not jump to this conclusion without exhausting all the other options they have. This though is a great alternative to a lifetime of discomfort and drugs.
